About

OGGS Lodge is the Old Geelong Grammarians’s Lodge. Geelong Grammar School is one of Australia’s best know private schools and OGGS Lodge was started by a group of former students and is still run and used by old Geelong Grammarians. The association with the school continues with students, staff and friends visiting the lodge. Geelong Grammar’s Timbertop campus is located nearby and many Geelong Grammar Students come to regard Mount Buller as their “home” mountain – so a lodge is a great way to access the mountain.

OGGS Lodge is a traditional ski lodge with cosy living areas and an intimate small-lodge atmosphere. If you’re after an affordable, family oriented lodge close to the Mt Buller Village, then OGGS Lodge is right for you.

Staying at Oggs Lodge

OGGS Lodge has just 14 beds arranged in five 2-bed rooms and a 4-bed family double room on the upper floor. Rooms are small (!) but snug. Bathrooms and Toilets (two of each) are shared and are located on the ground floor. There is a complete double kitchen (includes crockery, cutlery, appliances, dishwasher) for self catering with refrigeration space and storage cupboards allocated to each room. We have an outside BBQ (you need to pick your weather!) and lot’s of restaurants nearby. There is a large lounge room with a very warm fire, comfy couches and tables for sitting and eating. The living room is a great place just to sit and watch the snow fall outside on the snow gums. Downstairs also has a walk in drying and equipment room, while there is a large clothing drying cupboard upstairs.

A traditional ski lodge in the heart of Mount Buller

For over 50 years visitors have been enjoying skiing and relaxing on Mount Buller at the Old Geelong Grammarians (OGGS) Ski Lodge. Great for families and groups, OGGS offers affordable, traditional lodge style accommodation with self catering facilities right on the mountain and just metres from the ski runs and village.

Surrounded by snow gums, OGGS Lodge is an architect designed round-house which was cutting edge technology in the 1950′s! Now that style is very retro and the Lodge still retains the charm some of the early features of skiing in the mid-fifties. The lodge has been expanded and developed further over the years. Lodge prices are amongst the best on the mountain and the location and accommodation can’t be beaten for the price!

OGGS Lodge is just 50 metres from the top of Chamois run and the Canyon Trail Rope Tow – giving you easy ski access to the whole mountain. The Village bus stops on Stirling road and Mt Buller Taxis will bring you right to the door. A 3 minute walk puts you in the heart of the Village and the Lodge is surrounded by Restaurants and bars if you don’t feel like cooking or maybe want to absorb some on-mountain living!
